- Founder's Mission Statement
A few of the "Main Players" that work mightily for the cause: |
Dan Junot is a true renaissance man, having enjoyed full time careers as a newspaper ad-copy designer; a feature writer and photographer; a shipment's manager for a trucking company; and as a member of the military/security police in the U. S. Air Force -- where he was the classical vocalist winner in the 1964 USAF World-Wide Talent Show. Later, his success as a school music teacher and choral director at the elementary and secondary levels, secured his placement as Director of Choral Activities and Head Vocal Instructor at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux.
Dan left teaching to complete his Masters in Vocal Performance at Loyola University in New Orleans -- where he soloed with the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra and Chorus on numerous occasions. He has received many awards for his stage performances, singing title roles in such musicals as Man of La Mancha, and The King & I.
While studying at Loyola, he worked as Director of Counseling at Archbishop Shaw High School. Soon after, he became a state Licensed Mental Health Professional with a concentration in sex-therapy, and worked as Clinical Director for the Sexual Life Center, a prominent male urological/sexual-dysfunction clinic in the New Orleans area. Later, he opened his own private practice at Lakeside Hospital In Metairie, Louisiana in mental health counseling. Dan continued his training and became a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, as well. He has authored and published several books (some on self-help, sex-therapy) and one special book -- a biography of his Down Syndrome Daughter, Jackie.
Dan, a natural-born Cajun, is also a motivational speaker and a Cajun humorist. He has been frequently engaged for local clubs and organizations -- including the City of Thibodaux, itself.
At 62, Dan retired to paint -- and has had three major solo-shows in the last five years. See www.danjunot.com. Producing reproductions of his own artworks resulted in the founding of Color Simulation Service. Today, he heads up the "big picture, forward looking" departments and monitors customer relations. He is also responsible for the varied product offerings, marketing, capital improvements, and finances. In short, Dan is truly our "chief cook and bottle washer". His hobby is cooking and some say he could have--should have--been a chef, too. (Think gumbo.) |
Randy Orgeron is the head of the Digital Arts Department (He likes to call himself an "art reproductionist"...whatever!). Very simply put: Without him Color Simulation Service would cease to function. (Of course, this is not anything that we'd ever tell him.) Randy babies the art from the moment that it comes into our studio, while it makes its way through the art reproduction process, and finally as it is handed off to the UPS driver. Along the route, he consults with the artist and keeps them informed on the progress.
Randy gets the bulk of the calls and E-Mails that come into our facilities. Everybody wants to talk to Randy. While it's pretty sickening on this end, the clients seem to be charmed by him. (Go figure?)
Randy's obsession with the details serves the clients well (while it gives his co-workers ulcers). He is the "queue master," making certain that the jobs get out in a timely manner.
Because he thinks that he is "only as good as his last time out at bat," Randy responds well to continuous praise--which is how we keep him motivated at such a low pay grade!
Randy came to us an accomplished, paint-brush artist, having been a successful, blue ribbon winner in some of the initial shows that he entered. It soon became apparent to him, however, that the other competing artists were not so thrilled about his winnings. And, since some of them were his art reproduction clients, he felt that it was both prudent and safer to use his talents on the computer screen instead of on the canvas. And, if testimonials from our hundreds of clients are any gauge, he made a most wise decision. After all, you can have the finest equipment available; but, it is--in the final analysis--the "artist" at the controls that literally "makes it happen." Randy is definitely one such artist. |

Westley Annis describes himself as a "computer geek and self-appointed know-it-all." Westley is our point man on all things technological. When anything that's plugged in and is data driven stops doing what it is supposed to be doing, the call goes out to Westley. It can honestly be said that he has never failed to resolve any of the regular and varied issues that arise when so many necessary gadgets are involved. He's our very own "techno-wizard."
The silver lining for us in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina was that it brought Westley to our town of Thibodaux, since his home in Chalmettte, Louisiana was completely inundated with water up to the roof. He settled here so well that he ran for Lafourche Parish Council. Westley is involved with civic organizations and volunteers his talents to the local community band and playhouse.
When not keeping us up and running, Westley consults privately with other businesses, writes computer related advice columns for assorted newspapers, recovers lost or deleted data on hard drives for the FBI, and taxies his three school age kids around.
If you need an art website created, contact Westley directly westley@da-parish.com. He'll be able to coordinate the transference of any images that we have on file for you over to him for the purpose of creating your site. |
Ed Hammerli is a true "artisan." His artistry & craftsmanship combine in the most complimentary of ways. Ed is an accomplished, exhibiting photographer...adept at capturing the natural world in glorious black & white as he journeys about its lakes & rivers, hills & valleys, swamps & pastures. Once captured, Ed makes his own frames, cuts his own mats & assembles the work for final presentation. Antique maps & prints are two further areas that Ed successfully trades in.
http://www.hammerli-blackandwhitephotography.com
It is quite wonderful for us (& for you) that Ed's guaranteed, meticulous workmanship also extends to the stretching of canvases. It was a true gold mine of a find for our company--when we were searching for a way to be able to offer stretched & gallery wrap mountings for our client's canvas Giclée prints--to have discovered Ed's abilities. We constantly marvel at how the canvas prints come alive with realistic vibrancy once they've undergone Ed's capable stretching process.
Aside from the work that he does for us, Ed is available to you as an independent framemaker. He can be contacted directly by phone: 985-446-8150 or by E-Mail: ehammerli@yahoo.com |

Our art reproduction company got it’s start because it’s founder, Dan Junot (www.danjunot.com), who retired to paint, wanted to create fine art reproduction prints and original art note cards of his own work. After some research, he acquired the right equipment and technicians to do that. Soon, other local artists wanted fine art reproduction prints and original art note cards of their work. As one thing led to another, by word of mouth, we were soon doing fine art reproduction prints and original art note cards for artists all over the country – hence the formation of Color Simulation Service. Today, we advertise and do business internationally. We have clients from as near as one block away to as far as South Africa.
But, Dan insists on keeping the business “artist friendly”: low minimums, using cutting edge technology and equipment, and durable, archival-quality materials throughout our offerings for the best possible fine art reproductions and original art note cards. Our pricing is artist friendly too. Our "shop around clients" have found that we offer the best prices in the industry: straight forward, affordable, no surprises or hidden costs.
We also listen to our clients, which is how some of our product offerings and services came into being...You told us you wanted them: slides from digital images, jpgs on disc, custom web site design and hosting (the list is ever growing).
We are extremely protective of your original paintings...because, being artists, we understand the creative process.
We specialize in first timers and new comers to the world of fine art reproductions from original art.
We’ll be pleased and honored to guide you through and help you get your art out to a broader public.
And finally, we are easy to work with. By nature we’re just friendly, south-Louisiana, Cajun folk! People like doing business with us—and we’ve made fabulous friends all over the art-world.
