  • Original Art Note Cards
As artists, we love to draw, paint, and exhibit our work. We enter art shows, win ribbons, and sell paintings. Our efforts are usually rewarding and enjoyable…but…are they profitable? Considering the high and ever rising costs of art supplies and framing materials, many artists are seeking to add to their income from sales of original art. Additionally, many artists are seeking ways to further their reputations and careers as artists.
We can help to expand your art income by offering quality fine art reproductions and original art note cards of your art -- even on a limited budget. We can help you achieve more artistic notoriety by having your work recognized through fine art reproduction prints and original art note card sales.
Dan Junot's Painting Entitled "Just Past Cocodrie, Louisiana" Posted on www.prints-and-notecards.com: official website of Color Simulation Service, your home for fine art reproduction prints and original art note cards. Keep in mind that you can sell the original only once; but, you can sell fine art reproduction prints and original art note cards of the same image indefinitely. There are numerous opportunities right in your own neighborhood: galleries and guilds, fairs and festivals, boutiques, kiosks, arts and crafts shows, coffee shops, church bazaars, school fund-raisers, etc. Just use your imagination and take the initiative. Perhaps you’ve noticed your fellow artists selling fine art reproduction prints and original art note cards of their work and wondered, ”Why not me?” Well…"Why not you?"
You do not need to know a lot of “technical stuff” about cameras and computers or the like. That’s our job. All you need to do is to paint. If you can do that, mail a package, and attach price tags on your fine art reproduction products, that’s all it takes. This is definitely something you can do! And we’ll help. We specialize in working with artists who are just beginning their foray into the world of art reproduction; and, who also have the desire to promote their art.

By definition, our fine art reproduction prints are “Giclées”: Giclée (commonly pronounced "zhee-clay") is the name for the process of making fine art, high-quality prints from a digital source using ink-jet printing. The word "giclée" is French for spray. It is an individually produced, high-resolution, high-fidelity, high-tech reproduction done on a special large format printer. Giclées can be printed on any number of media, from canvas to watercolor paper. Giclées are superior to other forms of print production in nearly every way.  The colors are brighter, last longer, and are so high-resolution that they are virtually continuous tone, rather than tiny dots.  The range, or "gamut" of color for giclées is far beyond that of most other print production processes, and details are crisper. Giclées use ink jet technology, but far more sophisticated than your desktop printer.  The process employs nine colors of ink (variants of black, cyan, magenta, and yellow) that are light-fast (fade resistant) and pigment based. The ink is sprayed onto the paper or canvas, actually mixing the color on the page to create truer shades & hues. Giclée prints are coveted by collectors for their fidelity and quality, and desired by galleries and artists alike .
We use large format printers manufactured by Epson, one of the most prominent names in the industry.

  • Acid: Acids make paper deteriorate, disintegrate, and become brittle over time.

    Inks:
    • High Density pigments for an extremely wide color gamut, allowing the reproduction of colors that were originally envisioned at the point of creation
    • Professional print permanence ratings for truly sellable quality prints
    • Superior scratch resistance
    • Color is stable immediately after printing - no short term color shifting
    • Impressive mid tones and highlights for a smoother tonal range
    • Produces archival prints with amazing color fidelity
    • Excellent longevity and durability of up to 108 years under normal indoor lighting & environmental conditions

Just wait until you see your painting on the front of a note card…what a thrill. You'll be amazed to see how professional your work will look.
Some artists like to paint their original painting on a square foundation; others like short-horizontal shapes when they paint landscapes. Still others prefer vertical shapes for still life and portraits. And some artists just paint on seemingly anything they have handy with little thought to standard frame sizes or future reproduction possibilities. (You're in good company...Degas did it too.)
So--when it comes to note cards--we offer 4 very different sizes to accommodate the many painting shapes that you submit to us. We can give you advice and help you select a note card size/shape that will accommodate your original painting.
And here's the part you're going to love: regardless of which size card works out best for your original painting, all of our note cards are identically priced! And ALL of our note cards come with matching envelopes, automatically--at no extra cost:.  White, 70LB, Vellum Finish (parchment like).

Size Specifics: When we describe card sizes we are always referring to its size when folded in half.
    We offer a square card - 5¼” x 5¼”
    We offer a very standard rectangle card - 5” x 7”
And many love our "letter-box" card - 4” x 9¼” (for those landscape oriented paintings)
Finally, we offer the "quarter fold" card - 5½” x 4¼”.
That's the small card that some boutique stores like, and which fits nicely on their racks.

All cards can be printed either vertically or horizontally.

Card Stock & Printing:  We print your original art note cards on Accent® Opaque Digital 80-pound card stock that has been specifically engineered to work with our note card printer.  Some of the features that are of especial importance to you, the artist:

      • Acid-free for added archival quality that extends the life of the card
      • Smooth surface for proper ink adherence
      • High brightness with preferred blue/white shade providing excellent contrast
      • Good opacity for minimal show-through
      • Paper produced in a manner that has a reduced environmental impact (less chemical washes, water and energy)

Painting of boiled crawfish by Thibodaux Louisiana Artist Dan Junot. Posted on www.prints-and-notecards.com: official website of Color Simulation Service, your home for fine art reproduction prints and original art note cards.Note Cards Available 4 Different Ways:

      1) Single (loose Cards) by the Dozen
      2) Single Cards in Crystal Clear Seal Bags - by the Dozen
      3) Crystal Clear Boxes (high density PVC) of "SAME IMAGE" note cards
      4) Crystal Clear Boxes (high density PVC) of "ASSORTED IMAGE" note cards

All original art note cards can be oriented either vertically or horizontally.

On the back of the note cards we can print contact information and information about the image and the artist (all at no extra cost).  Click here to see example.

Got a favorite painting or one that's been a big hit? Consider getting clear plastic boxes of “Same-Image" note cards.   Boxes can contain as few as 5 or as many as 12 cards of the same painting.

Perhaps you've done several paintings of the same genre:  flowers, animals, landscapes, etc. Well, here's your chance to offer a box of "Assorted Image" note cards.
First choose a title for the set; something that groups the cards together with a theme. Ex: a set of still-life painting cards might be titled “The Days of Wine & Roses.” Or you might have painted "Three Colossal Clydesdales." Use your imagination and group together any number of paintings to create a box of assorted cards. You can have as many as 12 different images or as few as two. Note: Assorted boxes must contain at least 5 cards, but no more than 12.
With all assorted boxes, we create a collective "thumb-nail" image card that is inserted behind the last card in the box (facing outward). It allows the customer to see all cards within the box in miniature, and tells how many of each card is contained within. When packing the cards, the top image is rotated so that all the different card faces can be seen full-size on a table display or rack.

      Matted 5 x 7 Card Prints:

You've no doubt had the experience of someone telling you that they framed one of your original art note cards.  While this is flattering, it is not profitable for you, because you can sell a print for more than a note card.  It is also the case that note cards are intended to be shared, which has the added benefit of their acting like little marketing ambassadors for your art.  A framed note card that stays on the wall does not travel; and hence, you get no publicity.

Let's help your friends hang your original art on their walls, while still providing you with an opportunity to enhance your sales.  Now you can offer them not only the 5x7 note cards, but also the matching 5x7, matted prints ... thus increasing your profitability.

Behold, we offer the matching, matted 5x7, note card stock print.

5x7 Matted Note Card Stock Prints

On the left is a 5x7 note card.  On the right is the 5x7 matching, matted print on the same 100 lb stock as the note card.  The print is in a seal bag with a backing board.  The white mat is 8x10 with an inner bevel.  A 5x7 text card will be placed into the bag (shown in lower center foreground), containing the same information as is printed on the back of the note cards.
These prints will cost you $12.00 (regardless of number ordered).
The suggested retail price would be from $15.00 to $24.00.

What's really going to be a cost saver for you is that there will be no additional setup fees for these prints since they are printed on the same machines, using the same process as the note cards.  So, if you have 5x7 note cards made, you can also order these prints and not have to pay any additional setup fees.
